Electronic Transportation Development Center

We are currently interviewing companies interested in contributing their technology to this project. To request that your company’s technology be considered for the project, click here to fill out a brief online survey.

An Invitation to the Corporate Community:

The San Jose Redevelopment Agency and the City of San Jose invite corporate participation in the San Jose Electronic Transportation Development Center (ETDC), a new economic development initiative that aims to make San Jose a leader in advanced transportation technology. The ETDC addresses the critical national priorities of reducing dependence on oil, reducing air pollution, and improving the security and safety of ground transportation.

For more information about how your company can participate in the project, please send an email message to etdc@sanjoseca.gov.

The Project:

The Electronic Transportation Development Center (ETDC) will be a place where Silicon Valley companies work together to design, develop, commercialize, and manufacture prototypes of advanced transportation technologies.

Initially, the ETDC will focus on clean and renewable energy, homeland security, and transportation safety applications for commercial vehicles like buses, trains, and trucks. The ETDC will draw on existing and emerging Silicon Valley technologies – including hardware, software, and communications solutions - to spur the growth of an advanced transportation sector in San Jose.

Next Steps:

The ETDC project is currently in the planning stage. A consultant retained by the Redevelopment Agency is currently interviewing companies interested in contributing their technologies to the pilot project, with the goal of selecting and designing the technologies for the pilot project by Summer 2007.

Click here to request that your company’s technology be considered for the project.

Contact Us:

If your company is interested in participating in the ETDC or would like more information about the project, please send an email message to etdc@sanjoseca.gov or call Julie Amato, the Redevelopment Agency's project manager, at 408.535.8500.

Additional project partners include the City of San Jose and Synergy EV.
